Guys, I have just installed the Visonic Powrmax Pro. And as there seems to be a lot of interest and questions for the Visonic Powermax, I wanted to start this Thread so that people can get an idea whether they want to go for this alarm.
After a lot of research and help from this Forum, I finally plunged for this alarm.
A friend of mine who is normally very good with all kinds of DIY stuff agreed to fit it for me. The company I bought the alarm from very kindly pre-setup the Control Panel prior to sending everything out to me, which was the technical bit. This was a greatly welcome and needed service they offered. This cut out a lot of time and more importantly chances of not setting it up correctly. They also were absolutely brilliant in offering after-sales assistance too. If anyone is thinking of getting an alarm, I will highly recommend them.
So weekend gone we went about fitting it. The initial install was very straight forward. I, who am not at all DIY minded, did a bit of it myself (but not the installation of the actual panel itself as chances are I may have fried myself!). I even put up the external siren myself. But me being me, forgot to connect something within the siren for it to sound. Going to have to get a ladder again and connect it up.
Once the PIRs and door sensors were installed, with baited breath we went to test it. Unfortunately this is where a few problems began. We kept getting error messages for one thing or another. And as we were first time installers we just couldn't figure out what the problem was. After several hours we admitted defeat!
Thankfully, the company I bought the alarm from were magnificent. I called them up and and one of the guys went through all the problems and I now have an almost fully functional burglar alarm.
The only things that need sorting now are the siren, which all I need to do is connect something! The internet module, which I need to get an internet connection to. Try and setup the panel so that it doesn't send me a text every time I arm and disarm the alarm (my credit will go every few days otherwise!). and a few other niggly bits, which I'm sure aren't anything major.
I have only today got it working so will give more updates when I've used it more. But thankfully so far so good.

Visonic Powermax Pro Gsm Setup Tool
Just got a Visonic Powermax Complete system today with the GSM-350 module.
I have everything set up as it should be however when I activate private reporting I get the error 'line failure' and cannot activate the alarm system. I know the GSM module is working as it keeps sending me SMS messages with alerts.
I have checked through all the menus and cannot seem to pinpoint the problem for this line failure.
Is there something simple that I am not doing?
I don't have it connected to a landline, I only want it to communicate through the GSM module.
I hope someone can help!
